5 People Shot Over Two Days in Paterson, NJ

At approximately 4:13 am on June 5, 2022, members of the Paterson Police Department were notified that a 42-year-old female Paterson, NJ resident had arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ for treatment of multiple non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was in the area of Summer Street and Montgomery Street in Paterson, New Jersey when she was shot. A potential crime scene was discovered at this location. Paterson Police noted this investigation was ongoing.

The following day, June 6, 2022, at approximately 3:38 pm, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Clinton Street and North Main Street in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene and a 79-year-old male Paterson resident, a 26-year-old male Paterson resident, and a 29-year-old male Paterson resident who had each sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds.

All victims were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment.

Both of the above incidents, taking place on June 5th

Morristown, NJ is a part of New Jersey’s 11th congressional district and is part of NJs 25th state legislative district, represented by Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker and Representative Mikie Sherrill.

Gun violence and crime incidents collected from 7,500 sources show that in NJs 11th congressional district, from 2014 to 2022, there have been a total of 33 deaths as a result of guns being used for homicide and murder, including unintentional deaths by guns, and defensive gun use deaths

24 people have been injured by guns in our district since 2014. Our district, 11th congressional, has experienced zero mass shootings/murders since 2014.

3 police officers have been injured by a gun on duty, and 7 residents were killed by police use of firearms since 2014 with four being injured by police firearm use.
