New Jersey Unveils Online Portal for Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care

Governor Murphy signs legislation for a one-stop hub on reproductive health, highlighting additional state initiatives for improved facilities and Medicaid rate increases.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Governor Phil Murphy has officially signed a bill to introduce the Reproductive Health Information Hub, a new website aimed at providing critical information on reproductive rights, health care access, and coverage throughout New Jersey. The signing ceremony was attended by key members of his administration, state legislators, public officials, and advocates.

"New Jersey has been and will remain a safe haven for anyone seeking this care," said Governor Murphy.

What The New Portal Entails

The new online portal, accessible at nj.gov/reproductivehealth, will serve as a comprehensive resource for individuals across the state. It includes detailed information on a resident's rights to access emergency services, contraception, preventative care, and reproductive health medications under New Jersey law. It also provides links for securing health insurance, lists of verified reproductive health care providers, and resources for filing complaints against reproductive rights violations.

Who’s Behind It

Governor Murphy was joined by Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way and First Lady Tammy Murphy in underscoring the importance of this initiative.

“In New Jersey, we trust women to make informed decisions about their own reproductive health care,” said Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way.

“Reproductive health care providers can continue to administer services with the assurance that our administration will protect them,” added First Lady Tammy Murphy.

When and Where

The website was officially launched today in Glen Rock, New Jersey, alongside announcements for a series of other measures aimed at bolstering reproductive health care within the state.

Why and How

The new hub aims to simplify the process of finding and accessing reproductive health care services and is part of a broader initiative to protect and expand reproductive health care in New Jersey.

Governor Murphy also announced more than $963,000 in forgivable loans for facility upgrades at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey and LivWell Healthcare. In addition, there has been a recent Medicaid rate increase to more fairly compensate providers and a $5 million State funding allocation for the 'New Jersey Reproductive Training and Education Initiative.'

“New Jersey’s Reproductive Health Information Hub will serve as a one-stop shop for anyone seeking information on reproductive health care in our State,” Governor Murphy emphasized.

Additional Measures

Other notable efforts include an upcoming meeting by the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority to review applications for more facility upgrades and a Reproductive Health Security Grant Program, with applications open until October 31, aimed at enhancing security measures at reproductive health care facilities.

With these new developments, New Jersey continues to solidify its commitment to accessible and comprehensive reproductive health care.
