More Roadwork Disrupts Traffic Across Major Morris County Roads
Ongoing Construction on Key Routes Promises Delays and Detours
Morristown, NJ — Commuters in Morris County face a challenging day ahead with multiple construction projects impacting major roadways. As of this morning, ongoing work on I-287, NJ 23, NJ 10, and US 46 is causing significant lane closures and traffic delays, set to continue throughout the day.
The most extensive work is on I-287 with three separate projects affecting both northbound and southbound lanes. Northbound lanes between Exit 35 and South of NJ 124 in Morristown have the left lane closed until 2:00 PM. Similarly, southbound lanes from Exit 39 to North of Exit 34 are seeing two left lanes shut until the same time. Another segment, from North of Exit 30 to North of Exit 33, also has the left lane closed, further complicating travel.
NJ 23 and NJ 10 are not spared, with construction on NJ 23 stretching from Maple Lake Rd in Butler to North of Paterson Hamburg Tpke in West Milford Twp, closing one right lane until 3:00 PM. NJ 10 sees similar disruptions with one right lane closed in Denville Twp until 6:00 PM.
In addition to these, US 46 experiences closures in several sections, notably from East of NJ 53 in Denville Twp to the vicinity of CR 618/Mountain Lakes Blvd in Mountain Lakes, where the right shoulder is closed until 3:00 PM. A more extensive project on US 46 from West of New Rd in Parsippany-Troy Hills Twp to East of NJ 159/Bloomfield Av in Montville Twp has one right lane closed until 6:00 AM tomorrow.
Travelers are advised to plan extra time for their journeys or seek alternative routes where possible. With these projects aimed at improving infrastructure and safety, patience and caution are recommended during transit through these areas.
