Authorities Continue Search for Missing Roxbury Woman, Seek Public's Assistance

A major search operation is ongoing for Lara Emanuele, 46, who was last seen in Roxbury on June 7, 2023.

A joint press conference held on June 12, 2023, saw Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Roxbury Police Chief Dean Adone share updated information about the ongoing search for a missing adult woman from Roxbury, New Jersey.

Lara Emanuele, 46, was reported missing on June 7, 2023. The last known location of her vehicle was the Holiday Inn Express on Howard Boulevard, where it was found on the morning of June 8.

Emanuele, a Caucasian female, stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 125 pounds. She has red hair. A previous announcement had spelled her name incorrectly; the correct spelling is 'Emanuele'.

From last Thursday, a coordinated search operation involving the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Roxbury Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, New Jersey State Police Aviation Bureau, and New Jersey Search and Rescue commenced.

The search extended to the Berkshire Valley State Wildlife Management Area near the spot where Emanuele's vehicle was found. The MCPO Missing Persons Unit is also heavily involved in the investigation.

Prosecutor Carroll expressed gratitude for the community support and offers to assist in the search for Emanuele, however, he stressed that the public should rely on trained law enforcement and civilians to conduct the search due to the potentially dangerous wildlife and rugged terrain of the search area.

"Trained K-9 dogs being utilized to track in the search area and having unknown individuals in that area could impact the search efforts,” Carroll explained.

I’d like to assure the public that all capabilities available to law enforcement are being utilized to locate Lara. We understand the public’s concerns, and we will do our best to update the community whenever possible. I want to thank all of the law enforcement personnel involved for their dedication and tireless efforts in this continuing search,” Carroll added.

Authorities are requesting hunters with trail cameras in the Berkshire Valley State Wildlife Management Area to review their footage from June 7 through the present and contact Roxbury Police Department at 973-448-2100 or Det. Gaboda at tgaboda@roxburypd.com with any relevant information.

Authorities are urging the public to continue sharing information about Emanuele on social media platforms and to provide any information that could aid in her location to law enforcement.

Anyone with information about Emanuele's whereabouts or the ongoing investigation is encouraged to contact the Roxbury Police Department at 973-448-2100 or the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Missing Persons Unit On-Call Detective through the Morris County Communications Center at 973-285-2900.
