DOVER, NJ - A death investigation is underway in Dover as Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Dover Police Department Chief Jonathan Delaney announce their collaborative effort to shed light on the circumstances surrounding a deceased male found early Wednesday morning, July 26, 2023.

At approximately 1:56 a.m., Dover Police officers responded to an alert near the railroad tracks of West Clinton Street. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered a deceased male, whose identity is yet to be disclosed to the public.

Authorities have identified a person of interest in connection to the case, marking a significant step in the ongoing investigation. However, in an effort to maintain the integrity of the ongoing probe, no additional details will be released at this time.

Despite the unsettling discovery, local law enforcement reassured the public stating, "There is no perceived threat to the public at this time."
