2024 General Election: Key Dates and Voting Resources
The 2024 General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 5. In preparation of election day, voters can find a list of important dates and resources below:
Important Election Dates:
- Late September:
The Morris County Clerk’s Office begins mailing Mail-In Ballots to voters who requested them. - October 15:
Last day to register to vote for the 2024 General Election. - October 23:
Mailing of Sample Ballots for the General Election begins. - October 26 - November 3:
Early Voting Period at designated polling locations in Morris County. Visit https://www.morriscountynj.gov/Government/Voting-and-Elections/Early-Voting-Information/Early-Voting-Locations to view a list of the designated locations and hours of operation. - October 29:
Deadline to apply for a Mail-In Ballot by mail. For more information about applying for a Mail-In Ballot, visit https://www.morriscountynj.gov/Government/Voting-and-Elections/Ways-to-Vote. - November 4 – by 3:00 p.m.:
Last day to submit in-person Mail-In Ballot applications to the Morris Country Clerk’s Office. - November 5:
General Election Day: Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Additionally, voters can also visit the New Jersey Division of Elections website to identify their polling location.
Submit Your Mail-In Ballot in one of three ways:
- In-Person to the Board of Elections at Administration and Records Building, 10 Court Street, Morristown, NJ 07960.
- Mailing to the Board of Elections using the United States Postal Service. No postage is necessary if mailing within the United States. Mail-In Ballots returned via USPS must be postmarked by Election Day and received no later than the following Monday.
- In one of 30 Vote-by-Mail Drop Boxes Drop-Box locations across Morris County. The Vote-By-Mail ballots (VBMs) will be picked up on a daily basis and brought to the BOE. All Security measures will be followed when collecting and transporting the VBMs. Drop Boxes will be closed at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
