Students Demand Action, in wake of the recent shooting in Uvalde, Tx
MORRISTOWN, NJ -- MHS Students walked out of class this Wednesday, June 1st, to protest the proliferation of gun violence. The students gathered in front of the school’s main entrance to protest “governmental inaction and the complacency of elected officials to stand up to the gun lobby and protect students from gun violence.” Several students issued statements about the walkout and the impact of gun violence on their young lives.
“Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and teens in America,” says Miles Gorman, organizer of the walkout. “This shouldn’t be what we’re worried about, not 10 years after Sandy Hook and more than 20 years after Columbine.”
