Spike's School Decoy Training for K9 Teams at New York Jets Facility
The three-day workshop will focus on practical decoy skills, animal behavior, and canine communication, equipping handlers with the necessary knowledge and physical conditioning to safely and effectively locate dangerous suspects.
Spike's School, a leading provider of K9 education, is offering a three-day workshop to educate K9 teams on the essential tool of decoy training. The Spike's School Decoy Course will take place at the New York Jets Training Facility from February 21st through February 23rd, with world-renowned canine trainer and instructor, Armin Winkler, leading the training.
The course will focus on the theoretical knowledge and physical conditioning necessary to be an effective and safe decoy for working dogs. Handlers attending the workshop will develop practical decoy skills, gain a better understanding of animal behavior, and improve their canine communication abilities. These skills will increase their chances of success when locating a dangerous or fleeing suspect.
The Spike's School Decoy Course has a proven track record of success, with countless K9 teams safely apprehending suspects in real-life engagements within their communities as a result of this training.
Spike’s K9 Fund, a national non-profit founded by retired Special Warfare Operator James Hatch, is sponsoring the course. The organization has helped over 2,100 dogs across all 50 states by providing ballistic vests, medical cost assistance, and specialized training at no cost to handlers or departments.
"The dogs keep us safe, so their needs are our mission," said a representative of Spike’s K9 Fund. "We are proud to sponsor this course and to support K9 teams across the country."
