Celebrate NJ Transit's Operators with Transit Operator Appreciation Day!

It's time to show some love to the hardworking NJ TRANSIT operators who keep our city moving! On Saturday, March 18th, we celebrate Transit Operator Appreciation Day, and NJ TRANSIT is inviting you to join in on the festivities. From now until Tuesday, March 21st, customers can visit to recognize their favorite NJ TRANSIT employee, whether it's a bus driver, light rail operator, or train crew member. And who knows, you might even get a special "thanks" back from NJ TRANSIT!

NJ TRANSIT is proud to honor the men and women who make our transportation system so efficient and reliable. They are the backbone of our community, ensuring that we get to work, school, and all our destinations safely and on time.

"We thank and appreciate all of our hardworking and dedicated men and women behind the wheel and at the controls who are on the front line of safely operating our fleet," said Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chair.

NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett encourages all customers to show their appreciation for their favorite operators. "Transit Operator Appreciation Day is a perfect opportunity to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of NJ TRANSIT’s operators," he said. "We encourage all our customers to voice their appreciation for their favorite operators – whether online or in-person – to say ‘thank you’ for all they do to keep New Jersey moving, safely and efficiently."

So how does it work? It's easy! Visit to fill out the required form with information about the NJ TRANSIT employee you want to thank. It could be the bus driver who always greets you with a smile, the train conductor who helps you with your bags, or the light rail operator who makes your commute a little brighter. Customers who complete the form may receive a special "thanks" in return from NJ TRANSIT.

Let's show our NJ TRANSIT operators how much we appreciate them this Transit Operator Appreciation Day. They are the unsung heroes who keep our city running smoothly, and they deserve all the recognition they can get.
