New Jersey American Water Offers Payment Assistance Programs for Morristown Customers Facing Financial Hardships

Don't Let Winter Termination Program's End Leave You in the Cold: H2O Help to Others and LIHWAP Available for Those in Need

New Jersey American Water is reminding customers in Morristown and surrounding areas of payment assistance programs available to help with water and wastewater bills. As the Winter Termination Program ends, customers who are facing financial difficulties are encouraged to apply for the company's H2O Help to Others Program™ and the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP).

Mark McDonough, President of New Jersey American Water, emphasized the value of water service and the importance of assisting customers who may be struggling to pay their bills. The company is promoting its assistance programs through various channels, including social and digital media, bill inserts, emails, and other customer notifications.

The H2O Help to Others Program™, administered by New Jersey SHARES (NJ SHARES), has been helping qualified customers for nearly two decades. Customers who meet income requirements can receive grants of up to $500 to help pay their indoor water bill, as well as up to a 100% discount on their monthly fixed service charges for water and/or wastewater. Customers interested in learning more about the program and its qualifications can contact NJ SHARES directly at 877-NJAWH2O (652-9426), or online at www.njshares.org. Donations to the program can also be made through monthly New Jersey American Water bills.

Customers who may not qualify for the H2O program can explore payment arrangements and budget billing through the company's customer assistance web page or by calling the Customer Service Center at 800-272-1325.

In addition, New Jersey residents in need can also take advantage of assistance through the federally funded LIHWAP, which provides emergency assistance to families experiencing hardship with their water bills. To apply, residents can visit the DCAid application portal or call 1-800-510-3102.
