One of the largest weapons seizures in the NJ history - 100 handguns, 200 large capacity mags

New Jersey authorities have announced the seizure of 100 stolen handguns and 200 large capacity ammunition magazines (LCMs) in one of the largest weapons seizures in the state's recent history. The guns were stolen from a freight train cargo shipment between Vermont and Louisiana. A New Jersey woman, Claudine Kammo, has been arrested and charged with unlawful possession of the weapons, among other offenses.

The New Jersey State Police (NJSP), New York Police Department (NYPD), and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) collaborated on the interstate investigation that led to the seizure. The majority of the cargo was found in a storage facility in Hudson County. The 9 mm semi-automatic handguns, each equipped with two LCMs, were prevented from entering communities on both sides of the Hudson River.

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin, Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, and New York City Police Commissioner Keechant L. Sewell praised the collaborative efforts of the agencies involved. They emphasized that their shared mission is to keep residents safe and combat gun violence.
