2023 Road Resurfacing Alert for Denville Residents

Denville Township residents, please be informed that the 2023 municipal road resurfacing list has been finalized. Several roads have been approved for resurfacing, with some being resurfaced by New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG). A phased resurfacing approach will be applied to certain longer roads.

The specific paving schedule is currently unknown but will occur in phases between the beginning of June and the end of October. Once the roads are prepped by the Denville Department of Public Works and a group of roads is scheduled for paving, the Township will post the specific schedule on its website and send out Nixle alerts. To sign up for Nixle, visit www.denvillepolice.org.

Please note that a 5-year moratorium will be implemented after a road is paved, prohibiting road openings except for narrowly defined emergency situations. Residents intending to connect to public water, natural gas, or make improvements requiring the opening of the public roadway must complete all work before resurfacing. Otherwise, the next possible time road opening permits can be approved is 5 years from the date the paving was completed.
