Rush-Hour Construction Prompts Lane Closures across Key New Jersey Roads
Day-long construction efforts cause traffic disruptions in Jefferson, Montville, Denville, Mountain Lakes, Roxbury, Mine Hill, Chester, and Mount Olive Townships.
As New Jersey enters another day of extensive infrastructure works, residents and commuters face the disruption of lane closures on multiple main routes until the afternoon.
Beginning at 7:00 am today, construction work commenced on US 46 in both directions, from west of CR 642/Kenvil Av in Roxbury Township to west of CR 669/Canfield Av in Mine Hill Township. This construction work also affects the eastbound route of US 46, west of CR 618/Mountain Lakes Blvd in Mountain Lakes. The right shoulder in these areas will remain closed until 3:00 pm.
Simultaneously, a construction project on US 206 in both directions has led to the closure of the right shoulder. The affected stretch extends from south of NJ 24/CR 513/West Main St in Chester Township to north of CR 613/Flanders Netcong Rd in Mount Olive Township. This closure is set to last until 2:30 pm.
From 9:00 am, there was further construction affecting I-287 southbound in the vicinity of Exit 52 - NJ 23 in Montville Township, and NJ 10 in both directions at Franklin Rd in Denville Township. The construction work on these roads led to the closure of the right lane and shoulder, which will remain in effect until 3:00 pm.
Moreover, as of 2:11 pm, NJ 15 is experiencing lane closures in both directions in the vicinity of CR 699/Berkshire Valley Rd in Jefferson Township. The right lane will remain closed until 3:00 pm due to ongoing construction work.
Given the widespread closures and traffic disruptions, drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to remain alert while driving through these areas.
