Construction projects on major thoroughfares in and around Morristown result in several lane closures, motorists advised to exercise caution.
Morristown, NJ, and its surrounding townships are witnessing a spate of roadworks today, resulting in lane closures and potential traffic slowdowns for commuters and residents. The local Department of Transportation has confirmed multiple construction projects on key arteries, most of which will continue until the afternoon.
As of 10:00 am, roadworks on I-287 northbound between North of Exit 30 - North Maple Ave and South of Exit 33 - Harter Rd/US 202 in Harding Township have led to the closure of the left lane. This closure is expected to remain in effect until 3:00 pm. Motorists using this stretch are advised to expect potential delays and to exercise caution when passing the construction area.
Simultaneously, construction is underway on NJ 15 in both directions near CR 699/Berkshire Valley Rd in Jefferson Township. The right lane has been closed to accommodate the ongoing works, causing further disruption until 3:00 pm.
In Madison, roadworks on NJ 124 in both directions near Elm St have forced the closure of one right lane until 3:00 pm. Meanwhile, further construction on I-287 southbound near Exit 41 - I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township has led to the closure of the right shoulder, also until 3:00 pm.
In addition, as of 9:00 am, there are construction projects on NJ 10, affecting both directions. The westbound left lane near South Jefferson Rd in Hanover Township is closed until 2:30 pm, and one right lane and shoulder near Franklin Rd in Denville Township are also closed until 3:00 pm.
Given the multitude of construction activities and the subsequent lane closures, commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, allowing for extra travel time and remaining vigilant while traversing the mentioned routes.
State officials ask for patience during this necessary period of infrastructure improvement, with the ultimate goal of ensuring smoother and safer travel experiences in the future.
