Longview Avenue, Combs Hollow & Park Avenue – Milling & Paving Alert
Beginning on or about Thursday, June 22, 2023 (weather permitting), the Township’s contractor, South State, Inc., will begin milling Longview Avenue between Center Grove Road & Melanie Court, Combs Hollow (1/2 width) between Calais Road & Doby Road and Park Avenue between #121 and Pleasant Hill Road.
Paving of these roads is scheduled to be completed the week of June 26, 2023 (weather permitting).
Residents will have limited access to their properties during the milling and paving activities.
Detour signs will be posted and motorists should allow extra travel time or plan alternate routes.
Openaki Road - Road Closure Alert
Beginning on or about Monday, June 26, 2023, Openaki Road will be closed between Mountainside Drive and Casterline Road in Denville Township from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday - Friday for approximately the next 3 months.
Morris County Engineering Department’s contractor will begin a temporary breach of the dam and spillway for Lake Openaka, which is connected to the Openaki Road bridge.
The primary detour for all traffic in this area will be via Mountainside Drive, Everdale Road, and Shongum Road. Detour signs and other traffic control measures will be in place during this construction to divert traffic. Expect Delays or Plan Alternate Routes.
The work should be completed on or near October 1, 2023.
