Message from the Morris Plains Mayor regarding infrastructure projects, pickleball court updates
A message from the Mayor:
"The Glenbrook Road paving project scheduled for this summer has been put on temporary hold. The S.M.C.M.U.A. (water authority) will be upgrading water mains and service to homes along the entire length of Glenbrook Road starting Spring 2024. Upon completion, Glenbrook Road and Glenbrook Road Extension will be milled and paved from curb to curb in 2025. This paving project was approved and a grant received from the State of New Jersey will still be applied to this project. Any additional costs incurred will be covered by S.M.C.M.U.A.
The rest of our infrastructure improvement approved for this year will begin the 2nd or 3rd week in July and be completed by Labor Day. Any affected residents on the planned roads will be notified prior to the start of work and Police Officers will be in place to assist with traffic. Improvements will be on the following: Greenwood Road, Briarcliff Road, Simons Drive, Stony Brook Road, Homer Avenue, Cutler Road, Crestview Court East, Brook Drive South & Freight Station Walkway/Stairs and a crosswalk at Franklin Road and Mountain Way.
Progress on the upcoming pickle ball court continues, waiting on nets and grand opening.. more to follow."
