2024 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day: Events and Information

Join the Fight Against Elder Abuse: World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2024

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is an annual initiative launched on June 15, 2006, by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations. Each year, individuals, communities, municipalities, and organizations come together to raise awareness of elder abuse.

In 2018, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office hosted its inaugural WEAAD Conference. This year, several events throughout June will commemorate WEAAD, fostering multi-generational awareness. Let’s all do our part to end elder abuse!
