Morris County to Award 28 Veterans with Distinguished Medals
Join in Celebrating Veterans Day: Two Ceremonies to Recognize Morris County's Brave
Morristown, NJ - Morris County will hold two poignant ceremonies to honor the valiant service of 28 local veterans, bestowing upon them the Morris County Distinguished Military Service Medals in recognition of Veterans Day.
The initial ceremony is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, November 8th at 7 p.m. at the County Commissioners Public Meeting. The venue is on the fifth floor of the Administration and Records Building, 10 Court Street, Morristown.
The event will salute seventeen county veterans for their service. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 6:30 p.m. for the ceremony. A subsequent gathering on Thursday, November 9th at 1:00 p.m. will honor eleven additional veterans. This ceremony will be held at the Morris County Office of Veterans Services, 540 West Hanover Ave., Morris Township. The celebration will be coupled with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new veterans services wing, showcasing recent renovations and office expansions from this summer.
Public parking for these events will be arranged across the street at the Morris County 9/11 Memorial. Veterans receiving medals will have designated parking at the Veterans Services Office.
