NEWARK, NJ – NJ TRANSIT, New Jersey's public transportation corporation, has once again distinguished itself on the national stage, securing a spot on the prestigious 2024 Forbes America’s Best Employers List. This marks the fourth consecutive year that NJ TRANSIT has been recognized by Forbes, underscoring the organization's commitment to excellence and its role as a leading employer in the transportation and logistics industry.

Governor Phil Murphy lauded the achievement, noting it as evidence of NJ TRANSIT’s significant transformation and dedication to being a world-class public transportation system and a top employer.

"This significant honor confirms that NJ TRANSIT is not just a world-class public transportation system but a nation-leading employer as well, one that prioritizes the growth, satisfaction, and inclusion of its workforce," said Governor Murphy.

NJ TRANSIT's recognition in the top eight employers within the transportation and logistics sector, and its rank of 178 among all large employers nationwide, was determined through a comprehensive independent survey conducted by Forbes and Statista. The survey involved over 170,000 U.S. employees across various sectors, highlighting NJ TRANSIT’s efforts in building a culture of excellence, inclusiveness, and employee satisfaction.

Kevin S. Corbett, President & CEO of NJ TRANSIT, expressed his pride in the organization's achievements and its recognition as an employer of choice.

"This recognition reaffirms our position as an employer of choice in our region, and is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of so many in our organization," he stated.

The Forbes ranking is based on both direct evaluations from employees themselves and indirect evaluations from the public, with a greater emphasis on personal evaluations. This methodology ensures that the rankings accurately reflect the opinions of those most familiar with each company's working environment.

NJ TRANSIT’s commitment to its employees is evident in its comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, paid leave, disability coverage, educational reimbursement, and wellness programs. The organization takes pride in offering stable career paths and professional growth opportunities to its team of more than 12,000 employees, who are dedicated to serving the transportation needs of the New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia regions.

This latest accolade from Forbes, along with the recent 2023 American Public Transportation Association (APTA) award for Outstanding Public Transportation System, highlights NJ TRANSIT’s ongoing dedication to excellence in both service delivery and employee satisfaction.
