Numerous Projects Across Key Routes May Impact Daily Travel Through Evening

Morristown, NJ - Commuters in Morris County are facing a day filled with widespread construction activities affecting several major roadways. Key projects on NJ 24, US 46, NJ 23, and I-80, among others, are expected to significantly influence travel times and patterns throughout the area until late tonight.

Starting at 10:00 AM, a notable closure on the NJ 24 westbound ramp to Exit 1 - CR 511/Whippany Rd in Morris Township marks a significant disruption, with all lanes closed and detoured until 11:00 PM. This closure is critical for travelers accustomed to using this ramp for their daily commutes.

Additionally, US 46 sees multiple construction sites, with closures in both directions affecting areas near CR 669/Canfield Av in Mine Hill Township and eastbound lanes west of I-80 in Mount Olive Township. Lane closures on US 46 are scheduled to last until mid-afternoon, potentially impacting lunchtime and early afternoon travel.

NJ 23 also undergoes construction with the right shoulder closed in both directions from North of Alexander Av in Pequannock Township to North of Maple Lake Rd in Kinnelon, along with a lane closure northbound at Maple Lake Rd in Butler. These restrictions are expected to last until early afternoon, easing before the evening rush.

I-80 witnesses extensive construction activities, with closures impacting both eastbound and westbound lanes between Mount Arlington and Roxbury Township. Notably, the left lane closure between West of Exit 30 - Howard Blvd in Mount Arlington and Exit 27 - NJ 183/US 206 in Roxbury Township is scheduled until 2:00 PM, with similar activities spread across the highway in both directions.

Further disruptions include lane and shoulder closures on US 206 northbound near CR 613/Flanders Netcong Rd in Mount Olive Township and NJ 53 in both directions south of NJ 10 in Morris Plains, indicating a broad range of construction work aimed at improving road conditions across the county.
