Overnight Lane Closures on I-295 in Burlington County
Scheduled lane closures to facilitate concrete slab repairs as part of a federally funded project aimed at enhancing roadway safety and quality.
(NEW JERSEY) – Motorists traveling northbound on I-295 in Burlington County are advised to prepare for a series of overnight lane closures this week, marking the commencement of a significant pavement preservation project across Mount Laurel, Westampton, and Burlington townships.
The closures, necessary for concrete slab replacement efforts, will affect the stretch of I-295 between the Route 38 interchange in Mount Laurel and Elbow Lane in Burlington, to extend the roadway's lifespan and improve travel conditions for drivers.
Starting from 8 p.m. tonight, Monday, April 1, until 5 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2, and continuing each night through Thursday, April 4, at the same times, the right lane of I-295 northbound will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 p.m., with the center lane following suit at 10 p.m.
These measures are part of the early stages of the $8.8 million I-295, Route 38 to Elbow Lane Pavement Preservation project, a federally funded initiative designed to not only preserve but enhance the pavement condition over approximately six miles of I-295 in the specified townships.
This project underscores a commitment to safety, ride quality, and overall infrastructure resilience, with expectations set for completion in fall 2024.
Motorists are encouraged to stay informed of real-time travel conditions by consulting the NJDOT's traffic information website, www.511nj.org, and plan their commutes accordingly to avoid potential delays.
