2024 Primary Election Important Dates

The timeline leading up to the upcoming Tuesday, June 4th Primary Election is as follows:

April 10 – The last day for voters to change their party affiliation for the June Primary.

May 14 – The last day to register to vote in the June Primary.

  • Visit www.morriscountynj.gov to learn about voter eligibility, and different methods of registration (online, mail, or in-person).

May 28 – Last day to apply for a Mail-In Ballot by mail for the June Primary.

  • Registered voters can apply for a vote-by-mail ballot by following the instructions found at VOTE.NJ.GOV or contacting the Morris County Clerk at 973-285-6066.

May 29 – June 2 – Early voting period (at designated polling locations in Morris County).

  • Early voting enables all registered voters to cast their ballot, in person, using a voting machine, during a five-day period prior to Election Day. Early voting sites will be open Wednesday, May 29 through Sunday, June 2. Hours will be Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Visit www.morriscountynj.gov for locations.

June 3 – The last day for in-person Mail-in Ballot applications for the June Primary (application submission deadline by 3:00 p.m.).

  • Voters can VOTE and RETURN their completed ballots in one of the following ways:
    1. Secure Ballot Drop Box
    2. Board of Elections Office – Delivered in person no later than 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.
    3. Mail – Ballots must be postmarked on or before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 and be received by your county’s Board of Elections on or before Monday, June 10.

June 4 – Primary Election Day

  • Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
