Camden County Man Sentenced to 33 Months for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Images

Robert Giles of Collingswood receives prison term and hefty fines for possession of child pornography.

CAMDEN, N.J. – Robert Giles, 73, of Collingswood, New Jersey, was sentenced to 33 months in prison for possessing images of child sexual abuse, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced today. Giles previously pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography before Chief U.S. District Judge Renée Marie Bumb, who imposed the sentence in Camden federal court.

According to court documents and statements, on April 15, 2022, FBI agents executed a search warrant at Giles’s residence. A forensic examination of Giles's electronic devices uncovered over 45,000 unique files containing videos and images of children being sexually abused.

In addition to his prison sentence, Judge Bumb sentenced Giles to 10 years of supervised release and ordered him to pay $186,500 in fines.

U.S. Attorney Sellinger credited the investigation to FBI special agents, led by Special Agent in Charge Wayne A. Jacobs in Philadelphia, and acknowledged the assistance of the Collingswood Police Department.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Johns of the Criminal Division in Camden.
