Man Faces Multiple Charges in Morris County Child Sexual Assault Case

Authorities Arrest Nashville Resident on Severe Charges Involving a Minor in Dover

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, along with Chief of Detectives Robert McNally and Town of Dover Police Chief Jonathan Delaney, have announced the arrest and extradition of 32-year-old Rony Oviedo-Buezo of Nashville, Tennessee. Oviedo-Buezo faces serious charges, including Aggravated Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, stemming from allegations involving a female child in Dover.

Oviedo-Buezo is accused of committing multiple sexual acts against the child. The specifics of these allegations have led to his being charged with two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of second-degree Attempted Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of second-degree Sexual Assault, one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child through Sexual Conduct, and one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child through Abuse/Neglect.

Following his arrest in Tennessee, Oviedo-Buezo was extradited to New Jersey where he is now detained at the Morris County Correctional Facility under the stipulations of the Criminal Justice Reform Act, awaiting further court proceedings.
