Morris Seeking Public’s Help in Locating Missing 15-Year-Old Female

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon, are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 15-year-old female, who has been missing since July 27, 2024, and was last seen in Morris Township.

Shoshana Acevedo, who also goes by the nickname Sho, was last seen on Hanover Avenue in Morris Township on July 27, 2024, at 11 p.m. She has ties to Belvidere in Warren County, Somerset County, and the Palmer, Pennsylvania area. She has no cell phone. An initial search utilizing MCSO K-9’s and a drone was unsuccessful.

At this point in the investigation, members of Morris County law enforcement are now seeking the public’s assistance in locating Shoshana.

Shoshana has brown hair and brown eyes. She weighs approximately 138 lbs. and is 5 feet 2 inches in height.

Authorities Announce 15-Year-Old Female Found Safe

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon, announce that a 15-year-old female last seen in Morris Township has been found safe.

Shoshana Acevedo was located, unharmed, the evening of August 13, 2024.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Morris County Sheriff’s Office had previously sought the public’s help in locating Shoshana. Following up on a lead, Morris County law enforcement were able to determine the missing teenager was on an interstate train headed south. Morris County contacted officers in North Carolina, who located the teenager on a train, unharmed, and took her into protective custody.

Given that the missing persons case involves a juvenile, law enforcement is unable to provide further details about the investigation.

Prosecutor Carroll thanks the efforts of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Missing Persons Unit, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Amtrak Police Department, and the FBI for their assistance on this investigation.

Prosecutor Carroll would also like to thank the public for helping get the word out about the missing teenager.
