Morris County Officials Address Concerns Over Recent Drone Activity
Authorities confirm no threat to public safety after drones spotted on November 18.
Morris County law enforcement leaders issued a joint statement addressing public concerns about drone activity observed on the night of November 18, 2024. Officials emphasized that while the activity is under investigation, there is no known threat to public safety.
The statement, released by Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, Sheriff James M. Gannon, and others, noted that drones were seen by officers on patrol. Law enforcement agencies, including the Morris County Office of Emergency Management and municipal police departments, are collaborating with state and federal authorities to monitor and investigate the situation.
"This joint statement is being issued in response to rumors about the drone activity spreading on social media. We encourage the public to be mindful that what they read online may not be accurate," the officials said.
Residents with information about the incident are encouraged to contact their local police departments directly, reserving 911 for emergencies only.
