How to ensure healthy trees for next summer

The trees and tree wells in front of your business are owned and maintained by the Town of Morristown and the Shade Tree Commission.

REMEMBER:

*do not cut, trim or break tree limbs

*do not fasten lights or decorations on or about the trees

*do not place any objects around the tree base or on the tree well

*do not salt the tree well – it is a pervious surface and will kill the tree

Per Ordinance 17-10

1. do not cut, trim, break, disturb the roots, of or spray with chemicals any living tree or shrub; or remove any structure or device placed to support or protect any tree or shrub
2. do not fasten any rope, wire, electric attachments, sign or other device to any tree or shrub or to any guard about such tree or shrub
3. do not close or obstruct any open space provided about the base of a tree or shrub to permit the access of air, water or fertilizer to the roots of such tree or shrub

Thank you for helping us keep our trees healthy so that they may continue add shade and beauty to our business district. Keeping the sidewalks shaded brings business to our town!
