Investigation Leads to Arrests at Illicit Massage Business in Denville

Authorities Charge Business Operator with Promoting Prostitution and Money Laundering

Authorities in Morris County have arrested and charged the operator of a Denville massage business following an investigation into alleged illicit activities. Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Denville Police Chief Frank Perna announced that Soon Y. Bang, also known as “Cindy,” 63, of Fairview, has been charged with promoting prostitution and money laundering.

According to investigators, Bang is the owner of Oasis Spa, located at 3108 Route 10 West in Denville. Law enforcement alleges that Bang ran an illicit massage business at the location, personally receiving proceeds from sex acts performed there.

On February 20, 2025, officers from the Denville Police Department, alongside members of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, executed a search warrant at the Oasis Spa and the residence of the business’s manager in Fairview. During the search, authorities reportedly recovered a significant amount of U.S. currency and other evidence indicative of prostitution.

The investigation also led to the arrest of Yushun Li, 67, of Flushing, New York, who, along with Bang, is accused of engaging in sexual activity in exchange for money.

As a result of the operation, Soon Bang was charged with Promoting Prostitution (third-degree offense), Money Laundering (second-degree offense), and Engaging in Prostitution (disorderly persons offense). Yushun Li was charged with Engaging in Prostitution, also a disorderly persons offense.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Human Trafficking Task Force, United States Secret Service, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Edison Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities emphasize that the case remains under active investigation. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-285-6200 or the Denville Police Department at 973-627-4900.

Officials remind the public that criminal complaints are merely accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
