New Jersey Investors Have Until May 22 to File Refund Claims in GS Partners Crypto Settlement
Settlement resolves multistate probe into alleged unregistered securities sales tied to digital assets, metaverse ventures, and tokenized investments.
New Jersey residents who invested with GS Partners and its affiliated entities have until May 22, 2025, to submit claims for refunds under the terms of a multistate settlement addressing alleged securities law violations, the New Jersey Bureau of Securities announced this week.
“The Bureau is urging all those who purchased products or services from GSB to submit their claims before the window of opportunity closes.” said Elizabeth M. Harris, Bureau Chief.
The settlement stems from a coordinated enforcement action by securities regulators in multiple jurisdictions against GSB Gold Standard Corporation AG, GSB Gold Standard Bank LTD (doing business as GS Partners), and company chairman Josip Heit. These entities—collectively referred to as “GSB”—are accused of offering and selling unregistered securities tied to cryptocurrency and metaverse-related products.
The Bureau’s investigation focused on investment offerings that promised high returns through unconventional products such as virtual land in a digital platform known as Lydian World, staking pools linked to crypto tokens allegedly exchangeable for physical gold, and vouchers said to represent tokenized shares of a skyscraper. Regulators also cited the sale of certificates structured to encourage ongoing investment through gamified incentives and the promise of recurring passive income.
Under the terms of the agreement finalized in fall 2024, GSB is required to return funds to investors in participating jurisdictions, including New Jersey. A third-party administrator, AlixPartners, has launched a secure claims portal at www.gsbsettlement.com, where eligible investors may submit their claims online. All claims must be filed by the May 22, 2025 deadline.
The New Jersey Bureau of Securities urges any resident who believes they invested assets with GSB to review the eligibility criteria and participate in the refund process before the filing window closes.
