NJDOL Shames 11 Businesses on The WALL for Unpaid Worker and Tax Liabilities

The Workplace Accountability in Labor List (WALL) now includes 272 employers barred from public contracts due to unpaid wages, benefits, and tax violations totaling $25.5 million.

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) has added 11 more businesses to its Workplace Accountability in Labor List—also known as The WALL—in May, increasing the number of listed employers to 272. These companies are prohibited from bidding on or receiving state, county, or local government contracts until they resolve outstanding liabilities related to violations of wage, benefit, or tax laws.

The newly added businesses collectively owe $464,817.40 in unpaid contributions, penalties, and interest to the state’s Unemployment Compensation Fund and State Disability Benefits Fund. No businesses were removed from The WALL this month. Since the initiative's launch, the NJDOL has recovered over $613,000 from businesses that either appeared on the list or were warned of pending inclusion.

Created through bipartisan legislation (S-4226) enacted in 2020, The WALL serves as an enforcement mechanism to promote compliance with labor laws and prevent unfair competitive practices by employers who evade obligations to workers or the state. It complements other measures like contractor debarment and business license suspension.

Among the 11 entities added in May are:

  • Alex Auto Service & Tire Shop Inc (Paterson, NJ) – Owes $45,000

  • Caio Roca LLC (West Orange, NJ) – Owes $45,000

  • Digital Intelligence Inc (North Bergen, NJ) – Owes $45,000

  • Gattuso Farms, Inc. (Swedesboro, NJ) – Owes $45,000

  • Giovanni's Collision Express LLC (Bridgeton, NJ) – Owes $45,000

  • Jakes Home Improvement LLC (Guttenburg, NJ) - Owes $45,000

  • Joshua Construction Corp. (South River, NJ) - Owes $45,000

  • JVO Drywall Limited Liability Company (Plainfield, NJ) - Owes $45,000

  • Mao & Santi Trucking Limited Liability Company (Linden, NJ) - Owes $45,000

  • Ornate Trim LLC (Lakewood, NJ) - Owes $45,000

  • Ezcaramusas Express Corp (Medley, FL) - Owes $14,817.40

A complete list of companies on The WALL is available on NJDOL’s website. Businesses facing inclusion receive a formal warning and are given 20 days to resolve their liabilities or contest the judgment.

The WALL became operational in September 2023 and is updated monthly. State and local procurement officials are required to consult it before awarding public contracts to ensure compliance.
