NJDOC and State Labor Department to Host Virtual Law Enforcement Career Fairs in February
A series of online events aims to guide prospective Correctional Police Officers through the application process and training opportunities across New Jersey.
TRENTON — The New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC), in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL), will host a series of virtual career fairs in February to recruit individuals interested in pursuing careers in law enforcement.
The events are part of an outreach initiative by the state’s largest law enforcement agency to inform potential applicants about the qualifications and preparation needed to become a Correctional Police Officer. Participants will receive information about the hiring process, training requirements, and employment benefits. Officers from the Correctional Staff Training Academy will also be available to answer questions and offer insights into the profession.
The career fairs will be conducted on Microsoft Teams and are scheduled as follows:

Monday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m. – For residents in and around Northern New Jersey

Tuesday, February 11 at 6:00 p.m. – For residents in and around Central New Jersey

Friday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m. – For residents in and around Southern New Jersey

Monday, February 24 at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – Statewide sessions open to all

The NJDOC currently offers a starting salary of approximately $51,400 for new Correctional Police Officers upon graduation from the training academy. Senior officers can earn between $70,500 and $106,000 annually. In addition to competitive salaries, officers are eligible for extensive benefits, including paid leave, health coverage, education reimbursement, family and maternity leave, disability and military leave options, and retirement benefits.
