Six Charged in Multi-State Burglary Ring Targeting High-End Consignment Shops

Crew accused of stealing designer goods in overnight break-ins across NJ, NY, PA, MD, and DE

Six individuals from Washington, D.C., and Maryland have been charged in connection with a commercial burglary conspiracy that spanned five states, including New Jersey, federal authorities announced. The defendants are accused of stealing designer handbags and other high-value merchandise from consignment shops and transporting the stolen goods across state lines for resale.

Charged by federal complaint with conspiracy to sell and receive stolen property were Marco Honesty, 28; Richard Francis, 35; Dominique Hayes, 29; Deandre Dudley, 32; Ilon Coles-Melson, 21; and Marcus Gallmon, 21. All have appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judges in Newark federal court between February and June 2025.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the burglary crew committed at least 18 nighttime break-ins between March and November 2024. Using tools such as sledgehammers, the suspects reportedly forced entry into consignment stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, stealing dozens of luxury items during each incident.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, or twice the financial loss involved.

The investigation was led by Homeland Security Investigations and supported by more than 25 local law enforcement agencies across the affected states. Victims or individuals with relevant information are urged to contact Homeland Security Investigations at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly M. Lyons of the OCDETF/Narcotics Unit is prosecuting the case. The charges are allegations at this stage, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
