MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - Multiple ongoing construction projects are affecting traffic across major highways in Morris County today, Wednesday, August 13, with work scheduled to continue into the afternoon and evening hours.

Key impacts include:

• US Route 46:

  • In Parsippany-Troy Hills, both eastbound and westbound lanes are reduced near the stretch from CR 654/Cherry Hill Road to US 202/CR 511/Parsippany Boulevard. Right lanes are closed in both directions until 3:00 p.m.

  • In Mount Olive Township, westbound traffic is affected near Naughright Road with a right lane closure until 2:00 p.m.

  • In Rockaway Township and Denville Township, shoulder closures are in effect on both sides of US 46 near CR 644/Main Street until 3:00 p.m.

  • In Mountain Lakes to Denville, a westbound shoulder closure is in place from east of CR 618/Mountain Lakes Boulevard to east of NJ 53 until 3:00 p.m.

• Interstate 80 (I-80):

  • Multiple shoulder and lane closures are reported near Exit 45 (CR 637/Beverwyck Road) in Parsippany-Troy Hills, affecting both express and local lanes in eastbound and westbound directions. Closures here continue until 3:00 p.m., with some extending to 10:00 p.m. on the eastbound local lanes.

  • Between Exit 43 (I-287) and Exit 34 (NJ 15) westbound, a left lane is closed until 1:45 p.m.

  • In Rockaway Township, westbound right shoulder closures are reported from west of Exit 35 (Mount Hope Avenue) to east of Exit 34 (NJ 15), scheduled to last until 2:00 p.m.

• NJ Route 23:

  • In Butler, southbound traffic is reduced near CR 511/Boonton Avenue with a right lane closure until 3:00 p.m.

  • Between Pequannock Township and Butler, both northbound and southbound directions have shoulder closures from Alexander Avenue to CR 618/Kinnelon Road, active until 5:00 p.m.

• NJ Route 10:

  • In Randolph Township, eastbound traffic is affected from Arrowgate Drive to Dover Chester Road. One right lane and the right shoulder are closed until 3:30 p.m.

• Interstate 280 (I-280):

  • In Parsippany-Troy Hills, both directions are experiencing right shoulder closures near the I-80 interchange and Exit 1W (New Road), with closures lasting until 3:00 p.m. in most cases.

  • One westbound segment will see an earlier end time of 2:00 p.m.

• US Route 202:

  • Southbound traffic is impacted between CR 646/Tempe Wick Road in Harding Township and CR 525/Mount Airy Road in Bernardsville, with a shoulder closure in effect until 3:00 p.m.

• NJ Route 15:

  • Northbound in Rockaway Township and Jefferson Township, the shoulder is closed from just south of CR 699/Berkshire Valley Road to Taylor Road. The closure is expected to last until 3:00 p.m.
