Morristown’s Town Council Voted Today, Tuesday 11/9, on Recreational Cannabis
Today was a big day for weed in NJ. NJ voted to begin the process of accepting recreational cannabis retailers in the state. Meanwhile, tonight (11/9) Morristown’s Town Council voted to approve ordnance O-33-2021 which would allow recreational cannabis retailers to open in Morristown under several conditions. More info here. The ordnance would begin the process of setting up cannabis retailers in Morristown but there is still a ways to go. Additionally, the vote includes the adoption of cannabis delivery from retailers to customers homes. For more information go to the Town of Morristown’s website.
The ordnance is described as follows:
“AN ORDINANCE CREATING A NEW CHAPTER 24, “ESTABLISHMENT OF CANNABIS LICENSING AND BUSINESS REGULATIONS” AND AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 30, “LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE,” OF THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF MORRISTOWN TO ESTABLISH A ZONING CODE AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMITTED CANNABIS BUSINESSES”
