Authorities Provide Update on Discovery of Body at Jockey Hollow

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Morristown National Historical Park Chief Ranger Josh Minnich announce an investigation update into the discovery yesterday of a deceased person in Jockey Hollow section of Morristown National Historical Park.
At approximately noon on April 19, 2022, a visitor walking the green trail at Jockey Hollow discovered an unresponsive 73-year-old male and called 911. Park Law Enforcement Rangers, Emergency Medical Responders, Harding Police, Morris County Sheriff’s Office CSI Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded.
The deceased has been identified as Mark Cozin, 73, of Bernardsville. At this time, the incident is not considered suspicious.
An investigation is being conducted by the National Parks Service, Morris County Sheriff’s Office CSI and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
