9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
Please join Mayor James R. Barberio and the Parsippany Interfaith Council on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 for a solemn remembrance ceremony for victims of the terrorist atacks of September 11, 2001. We will observe the 23rd anniversary at the 9/11 memorial monument site in front of the Parsippany – Troy Hills Municipal Building beginning at 8:40 a.m.
Residents are invited to join Township officials and clergy in remembering those who perished that day. We especially remember our community members lost on that day: Martin Boryczewski, Antoinee Duger, Jason Kyle Jacobs, Michael Pescherine, Thomas H. Polhemus, Maria Theresa Santillan, and Michael C. Sorresse.
The community gathering begins at 8:40 a.m., and will include prayers of commemoration by members of the local clergy, followed by the presentation of a ceremonial wreath by members of the VFW. The ceremony concludes with the reading of the names of the Parsippany – Troy Hills residents we lost that day, and a period of silent reflection.
The ceremony will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside the Municipal Building in the Council Chambers.
