The annual Madison Christmas Committee Parade, one of the most beloved Madison holiday traditions, will once again take place in 2024! 

We hope you can join us on Friday, November 29, at 5:30 p.m. for this cherished and magical event. Below is helpful information regarding the parade route, road closures, parking, and watching it virtually!

Livestream:

We want to be able to spread the Christmas cheer to those near and far, so once again, we will be providing a live stream of the event for those who are unable to attend. Watch the entire ceremony live-streamed on our YouTube page from the comfort of your home.

Parade Route:

Beginning at the Madison Ambulance Corps building, the parade will proceed down Prospect Street towards Main Street, where it will turn left and proceed up Main Street before ending at Condurso Way. Cars parked on Prospect Street and Main Street must be removed before 3:00 p.m. or will be subject to towing. Cars parked on Kings Road, between Green Avenue and Prospect Street, must be removed before 3:00 p.m. or will be subject to towing.

At the conclusion of the parade, the Christmas tree on Waverly Place will be lit, around approximately 6:30 p.m. Main Street and Waverly Place will remain closed in both directions until the conclusion of the tree lighting. Cars parked on Waverly Place should be removed before 3:00 p.m. Any cars left after 3:00 p.m. are subject to towing.

Road Closures:

Detours will be in place for the below road closures. Roads are closed in both directions unless otherwise noted:

  • Main Street from Rosedale Avenue to Madison Avenue/Park Avenue;
  • Prospect Street from Keep Street to Main Street;
  • Kings Road from Green Avenue to Cross Street;
  • Central Avenue from Cook Avenue/Elmer Street to Main Street;
  • Green Village Road between Kings Road and Main Street (the Waverly Green parking lot will be accessible);
  • Lincoln Place during the duration of the parade;
  • Waverly Place

Parking

Parking for parade attendees is best on Kings Road (between Madison Avenue and Green Avenue), Cook Avenue parking lot, Elmer Street parking lot, Waverly Green parking lot, and the Public Safety parking lot, as well as any available street parking.

Prospect Street Lot (formerly Lot #1), Maple Avenue Lot, and the Train Station Lot must be removed of all cars by 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 28.

For the safety of the public, Emergency No Parking will be strictly enforced by the Madison Police Department on Friday, November 29. All vehicles on Main Street (between Greenwood Avenue/Prospect Street and Community Place), Prospect Street (between Kings Road and Main Street), and Waverly Place must be removed by 3:00 p.m. Vehicles remaining after 3:00 p.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense.
