You’ll be dancing heel and toe with Cozy Socks and that’s no yarn. Eric has been stocking up on some merino moves to pair up with the sock hop. Not to pull the wool over your thighs but you’ll be feeling sheepish if you’re a no-show. Rather bring the crew to be knee-high in contra joy—it’s good for the sole. Be there, darn it!

ERIC HOLLMAN

Eric Hollman is a well-liked contra and square dance caller in the Hudson Valley and beyond, celebrated in the community for his zesty “spaghetti contras”—fun, flowing figures that get dancers smiling and moving together on the floor. Known for organizing and calling regular dances in the mid-Hudson Valley of New York, he brings a welcoming energy that helps both seasoned dancers and newcomers alike feel confident and joyful in the dance hall.

In addition to lively evening dances with live bands, Hollman has taught swing, waltz, cajun, zydeco, family dances and school programs, making American traditional dance accessible to all ages.

COZY SOCKS

A new band born from the Brooklyn contra and session scene, Cozy Socks features the cheerful playing of Alex Richey, Ben Graubart, and Rebecca Sohn. With Alex on the keyboard and Ben and Rebecca rocking twin fiddles, Cozy Socks deliver a unique and eclectic take on contra dance music drawing from Celtic, Jazz, and folk sources of all stripes—a danceable concoction that will knock the cozy socks right off of your feet.
