Morristown, NJ – On Sunday, October 1, 2023, the heart of Morristown will come alive as it hosts the much-anticipated Morristown Festival on the Green. Known as the premier fall festival in Northern New Jersey, the annual event will take place from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., rain or shine.
The Festive Lowdown
The festival, which has been a staple in Morristown since 1994, draws an impressive crowd of over 60,000 attendees each year. Residents and visitors from across the tristate area descend upon Morristown's historic downtown to partake in a plethora of activities.
The event features non-stop entertainment across three stages, carnival games, children’s amusements, a beer tent, and more than 150 exhibitors. With its diverse offerings, the festival serves as a testament to Morristown's vibrant community, steeped in national history and local pride.
Road Closures and Parking Information
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, several road closures around Morristown Green will commence on Saturday, September 30. Full closure is expected by 7 p.m.
Access to the Ann Bank Garage via Schuyler Place and the DeHart Street Garage via DeHart Street will be available until approximately 9 p.m. The closures will last until the late evening of Sunday, October 1.
Affected roads include:
- Speedwell Avenue: Closed at Spring Street and Cattano Avenue
- Morris Street: Closed at Spring Street
- South Street: Closed at DeHart Street and Community Place
- Washington Street: Closed at Schuyler Place and Court Street
- Market Street: Closed at Maple Avenue
- Dumont Place: Closed at Lot 10J
- Water Street: Closed to through traffic, though access to Headquarters Plaza parking will remain open
Portions of on-street parking on Schuyler Place and Speedwell Avenue will be closed starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, and all on-street parking within the event site will be closed by 5 p.m.
Officials recommend that drivers plan their travel routes accordingly, as the roads will remain closed until late Sunday evening.
