New Jersey's North to Shore Festival Returns with a Star-Packed Lineup
ASBURY PARK, NJ – This June, the North to Shore Festival, presented by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), is poised to electrify the Garden State with a remarkable assembly of talent ranging from comedy and music to thought leadership and film. The festival’s return, bolstered by an expanded roster of performers including Kevin Hart, Matchbox Twenty, and Gary Clark Jr., marks a significant celebration of New Jersey’s vibrant cultural tapestry.
Following its successful debut last year, the festival will traverse Asbury Park, Atlantic City, and Newark over three consecutive weekends, starting June 10, 2024. Organized with the vision of Governor Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy, North to Shore aims to illuminate the state’s rich diversity and creative spirit. The lineup promises a dynamic blend of artistic expressions, alongside film screenings, panels, and more, across a variety of venues, with many events free to the public.
Governor Murphy expressed his enthusiasm for the festival's role in enhancing tourism and supporting local businesses, highlighting the importance of such events in showcasing New Jersey's unique appeal. Last year’s festival drew nearly 250,000 attendees, contributing significantly to the local economy with $7.6 million generated from ticketed events alone.
The 2024 festival enjoys the backing of prominent sponsors like Prudential Financial and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), underscoring its significance as a catalyst for economic and cultural vibrancy. The NJPAC, in collaboration with an array of partners, has curated a festival that extends beyond entertainment to include dialogues on pressing issues like maternal health and food insecurity, reflecting a deep commitment to social impact.
A highlight of this year’s festival is the inclusion of a curated film component, E-Games competitions, and the Propelify Innovation Festival, showcasing the intersection of technology and creativity. Additionally, the festival’s grant program, which supports local artists and organizations, has been expanded, reinforcing NJPAC’s mission to nurture New Jersey’s creative community.
The festival's diverse offerings and the anticipation of community engagement underscore New Jersey’s status as a cultural beacon. With an impressive lineup and a range of activities designed to entertain, enlighten, and inspire, the North to Shore Festival stands as a testament to the state’s enduring legacy of fostering innovation and creativity.
Tickets are now available, with a portion of the proceeds supporting initiatives like Growing Healthy Pantries, further exemplifying the festival's commitment to community well-being.
