Investigation Underway Following Bank Robbery in Netcong
Male suspect escapes with $14,000 in morning heist
NETCONG, NJ - A bank robbery in Netcong, New Jersey, is currently under active investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies, confirmed Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Netcong Borough Chief Russ Van Houten.
The incident occurred on the morning of July 7, 2023, with a 9-1-1 call reporting the robbery at Fulton Bank, 9 Ledgewood Avenue, coming in at approximately 10:12 a.m.
Initial investigations reveal that a male suspect walked into the bank and demanded money. There was no indication of a weapon being displayed or threatened. The suspect managed to escape the scene with around $14,000 in cash.
The suspect is thought to be a white or Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s. He was last seen donning a red hooded sweatshirt, a blue surgical-style face mask, and was carrying a shoebox-sized container.
Numerous law enforcement agencies are currently pooling resources for this ongoing investigation, including the Netcong Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigations Unit, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the New Jersey State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
