Boating in NJ - Choose a NASBLA-Approved Boating Course

Boaters and jet-skiers! If you take a NASBLA certified class, you can use your NJ state boat safety certificate in any other US state that requires a boat safety certificate. Your first question when scheduling a NJ boat safety class should be: “Are you NASBLA certified?”.

The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) is a national, non-profit organization that works to develop public policy for recreational boating safety. NASBLA represents the recreational boating authorities of all 50 states and the U.S. territories and creates educational standards for boating safety classes. Check out: www.nasbla.org

Boat Safe US, LLC is one, of only two NJ course providers, that is NASBLA certified. Take the NJSP required class and exam with Boat Safe US, and receive your NASBLA certification at the same time, on your NJ boat safety certificate card. So, if and when you operate a boat or jet-ski in another state, such as FL, NY or PA…etc, you can use your NJ boat safety certificate card. Therefore, saving time and money taking another state boat safety course.

Some states expect boaters to complete a boater education course before operating motorized vessels. Other states do not have this requirement, always check the state’s rules and regulations before operating a vessel!

Through lecture, video, and student interaction, we provide the knowledge needed to obtain your NJ boating safety certificate. Our Boat Safe US team will provide a family friendly, fun filled, information packed, 8 hours class.
At the conclusion of the class each student will take a 60 question, multiple choice exam. All students ages 13 and up who successfully complete the class and exam will be issued (same day) a temporary NJ boating safety certificate that will be valid for 1 year.
