Construction Across I-287, US-46 & NJ-53 as Sinkhole Repair on I-80 Drags On

Expect more delays today as the sinkhole project on I-80 drags on (for another 7 weeks minimum), and construction slows I-287, US-46 & NJ-53.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - Drivers in Morris County should expect delays today, with multiple construction projects causing lane and shoulder closures:

I-287:

• Northbound:

  • Exit 41 (I-80) in Parsippany-Troy Hills: Left shoulder closed until 3:00 PM.

  • Near Exit 36 (CR 510/Morris Ave) in Morris Twp: Acceleration lane closed until 3:00 PM.

  • Near Exit 47 (US 202) in Montville Twp: Left lane closed until 3:00 PM.

• Southbound:

  • Near Exit 44 (US 202) in Boonton: Right shoulder closed until 3:00 PM.

  • Near Exit 42 (US 46) in Parsippany-Troy Hills: Right shoulder closed until 3:00 PM.

  • At Exit 33 (Harter Rd/US 202) in Morris Twp: Right shoulder closed until 3:00 PM.

  • Near Exit 52 (NJ 23) in Montville Twp: Right shoulder closed until 3:00 PM.

  • At Exit 47 (US 202) in Montville Twp: Right shoulder closed until 3:00 PM.

US 46:

• Westbound near CR 637/Beverwyck Rd in Parsippany-Troy Hills: Left lane closed until 3:00 PM.

• Eastbound near CR 637/Beverwyck Rd in Parsippany-Troy Hills: Left lane closed until 3:00 PM.

NJ 53:

• Northbound from south of Luger Rd to US 46 in Denville Twp: One left lane closed until 3:00 PM.

NJ 23:

• Southbound, south of CR 660/Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pequannock Twp: Right lane closed until 3:00 PM.

I-80:

• Both directions at Exit 34 (NJ 15) in Wharton: All lanes closed and detoured for construction and emergency repairs.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time or consider alternate routes to avoid construction zones. All closures are scheduled to continue until at least 3:00 PM, unless otherwise noted.
