Overturned Tractor-Trailer Closes NJ 23; Multiple Morris County Construction Projects

Drivers on NJ 23, I-287, I-80, US 46, and NJ 10 should expect delays throughout Friday as an overturned tractor-trailer and ongoing roadwork result in several lane and shoulder closures.

An overturned tractor-trailer has shut down all northbound lanes of Route 23 in Riverdale as of 10:50 a.m. Friday, according to transportation officials. The incident occurred just north of the Interstate 287 interchange. Emergency crews are on the scene, and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes while the roadway remains closed. No information was immediately available on injuries or when the lanes would reopen.

In addition to the crash, multiple road construction projects are contributing to traffic delays across Morris County:

• I-287 southbound in Boonton: The left lane near Exit 44 (US 202) is closed until 3 p.m. for construction.

• US 46 westbound in Mount Olive Township: The right lane near Naughright Road is closed until 2 p.m.

• I-80 westbound in Mount Olive and Allamuchy townships: The left lane is closed between Exits 25 (US 206) and 19 (CR 517) until 3 p.m.

• US 46 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township: Lane closures are in place in both directions near Cherry Hill Road and US 202/CR 511/Parsippany Boulevard. Westbound and eastbound right lanes will remain closed until 3 p.m.

• I-287 northbound in Morris Township: The acceleration lane near Exit 36 (CR 510/Morris Avenue) is closed until 3 p.m.

• US 46 westbound between Parsippany-Troy Hills and Mountain Lakes: The right shoulder is closed until 3 p.m.

• US 46 westbound near Main Street in Denville Township: The right shoulder is closed until 3 p.m.

• US 46 eastbound between Mountain Lakes and Parsippany-Troy Hills: The right shoulder is closed until 3 p.m.

• US 46 eastbound near Main Street in Rockaway Township: The right shoulder is closed until 3 p.m.

• NJ 10 westbound at I-287 in Hanover Township: The right shoulder is closed until 4 p.m.
