Learn More About New Flood Maps For Morris County, NJ

Do you know your flood risk? FEMA is hosting an Open House event on flood risk and insurance. If you live or work within Morris County, this is a chance to learn more about your updated flood maps, known as Flood Insurance Rate Maps. FEMA representatives will be there to answer your questions. Learn about flood risk, flood insurance, and how to prepare for and protect yourself from flooding.

The Open House meetings will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. ET at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy, located at 500 West Hanover Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960 and Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET at the Chester Library, located at 250 W Main St, Chester, NJ 07930. Attendees may choose to attend either day. All are welcome to join at any time during the event.

Flooding is the number one natural disaster in the United States. People in our community need to know their risk and how to use the tools and programs available, including flood insurance.
