Lake Hopatcong Block Party Set to Return May 17 with Lakeside Festivities

Now in its 12th year, the annual event at Hopatcong State Park will feature over 200 vendors, live entertainment, free boat rides, and family-friendly activities.

The 12th Annual Lake Hopatcong Block Party will take place on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hopatcong State Park in Landing, New Jersey. Organized by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation (LHF), the event is open to the public and will proceed rain or shine.

Positioned as a lakeside kickoff to the summer season, the Block Party brings together residents and visitors for a day of food, entertainment, and community interaction. The event is supported by top sponsor Live the Lake NJ and media sponsor TAPinto Roxbury.

More than 200 vendors are expected, representing a diverse mix of local businesses, nonprofit organizations, artisans, and food purveyors. Culinary offerings will range from lobster rolls and barbecue to pizza and dessert items.

Complementing the vendor fair, free boat rides will be provided aboard the Miss Lotta and through Bridge Marina. Additional interactive features include photo opportunities with local mascots such as Herbie the Miner, the Roxbury Gael, and the Centenary Cyclone.

Live entertainment and educational demonstrations are scheduled throughout the day. The program includes an exotic animal presentation by Eyes of the Wild, a performance from An Clar School of Irish Dance, and dog agility displays by Puppy-Wuppy Dog Training. Fishing enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to view a demonstration hosted by the Knee Deep Club.

For children and families, the event will offer a designated kids’ zone featuring large-scale games, a scavenger hunt, and hands-on craft activities. Adults may participate in the Passport Adventure, an activity that encourages guests to collect stamps from sponsor booths in exchange for prize entry.

This event reflects the pride, energy, and spirit of the Lake Hopatcong community,” said LHF Events Coordinator Kari Constantine.

Established as a recurring community tradition, the Lake Hopatcong Block Party continues to serve as both a seasonal celebration and a showcase for regional collaboration, drawing attendees from throughout Morris and Sussex counties.
