Morristown's 2023 Business Boom: From Gelato and Sports Memorabilia to Yoga and Beauty Services

The vibrant town of Morristown has been bustling with activity in 2023, as a series of innovative businesses have opened their doors, serving up an exciting blend of products and services to residents and visitors alike.

The year kicked off with the much-anticipated opening of Guerriero Gelato at 64 South Street.

Making its debut on January 13, the award-winning frozen dessert shop took over the former Kilwin’s Space, boasting over 60 flavors of hard ice cream, gelato, Italian ice, cakes, and their new plant-based gelato, Verdi.

Founders Mike and Breanna Guerriero are also providing custom cakes, catering, and wholesale options, with plans for seven-day operations, curbside pickup, and delivery.

In March, the town greeted two unique ventures. Max on Morris, an 85-unit multifamily community at 175 Morris Street, celebrated its ribbon cutting on March 22.

Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty joined The Hampshire Companies to unveil this state-of-the-art residential offering.

Next, breakfast enthusiasts found a new haunt at Effin Egg, which commenced operations on March 30 at 30 Morris Street.

Offering an array of fast-casual breakfast sandwiches, Effin Egg's inaugural day saw Mayor Dougherty in attendance to mark the milestone.

April 2023 continued the town's business boom with the opening of Moxie Salon and Beauty Bar at 43 South Street.

Founded by the "Moxie Twins," Jenn and Jamie Dunn, this full-service salon and beauty bar is committed to delivering exceptional hair care and beauty services at reasonable prices.

A day later, sports memorabilia buffs had reason to celebrate, with the unveiling of NoJobCards at 11 South Street, 2nd Floor.

The local card shop doubles as a 24/7 sports card and memorabilia streaming service, offering a one-of-a-kind blend of retail and entertainment for card enthusiasts.

As spring turned into summer, the former Gallery Egan and yoga studio Commit To Change reopened as TB Yoga House.

Located at 12 Community Place, the studio offers vinyasa-style yoga classes set to music, striving to be an inclusive, safe community space for personal healing and strength building. The studio welcomes all, regardless of age, gender, or skill level, making it a welcoming addition to Morristown's wellness scene.
