Centenary Stage Company and Explore Warren Collaborate to Host 2023 Summerfest of Events

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – This summer, the Centenary Stage Company (CSC), in residence at Centenary University, will present its exciting line-up of musical theatre and concert events with the support of its first-ever Summer Series Sponsor, Explore Warren. A mix of Centenary University students, alumni, CSC veterans, and fresh talent will take the stage, promising a vibrant and entertaining summer series.

CSC’s Summerfest of events will take place from June through August, featuring a roster of performances including Rock of Ages, Seussical the Musical, and an Earth Wind and Fire Tribute Band concert. Notably, this summer series is made possible through the collaborative effort with Explore Warren, a project of the Explore Warren County Tourism Partnership aimed at highlighting local businesses, attractions, and events.

CSC's season is generously supported by patrons, local businesses, grants, and ticket sales. The series will kick off with The 80’s Revolution on Thursday, June 22nd, setting a nostalgic tone for the rest of the series. 

Rock of Ages will follow, running from July 6-16, and then the Earth Wind and Fire Tribute Band will electrify audiences on July 22nd. Seussical the Musical will close out the Summerfest season, running from July 27 – August 6.

In addition to local talent, the casts for Rock of Ages and Seussical the Musical will include seasoned theatre professionals. 

Michael Restaino, renowned for his diverse background in theatrical experiences worldwide, will direct Rock of Ages. Seussical the Musical will be co-directed and choreographed by Lea Antolini-Lid, Assistant Professor of Theater & Dance and director of CSC’s Young Audience Series Tour, and award-winning choreographer/director Jillian Petrie.

Explore Warren's Summerfest, coordinated by the Warren County Public Information Department, is supported by the Warren County Board of County Commissioners and multiple other local organizations and businesses.

Performance dates and times for Rock of Ages and Seussical the Musical are available on the Centenary Stage Company website. 

Ticket prices range from $25.50 – $29.50 for adults, with discounts available for seniors, students, and children under 12 for select performances. Family nights will be held on Thursday evenings, featuring Buy One, Get One ticket specials starting at 5:30 PM.
