Chatham Township, Chatham Borough, and Madison are gearing up for a three-town-wide yard sale on September 30, where hidden treasures from basements, garages, and closets will find new homes. Registration is open for residents wishing to list their sale items on a digital map that will be publicized far and wide to attract shoppers.

A Treasure Hunt in Your Community

One person's trash is another person's treasure. That's the spirit behind the community yard sale event scheduled for September 30, uniting Chatham Township, Chatham Borough, and Madison in a shopping extravaganza.

Residents can start searching their closets, basements, and garages for hidden treasures, preparing to host a yard sale at this significant community event. Registrants can have their address and items for sale listed on a digital, printable map, available from September 29. The map will be linked to the event page and widely publicized to attract potential shoppers.

Registration and Benefits

Residents of the areas mentioned above can register by September 28 at 11:30 PM. A registration fee of $10, which is a tax-deductible donation, will benefit the Great Swamp Watershed Association. All registered sellers will also have their yard sale featured on a digital map, accessible on September 29.

The organizers promote the yard sale in local media and on popular garage sale sites, attracting shoppers from across New Jersey and even Pennsylvania. Zero Waste Goal

The goal is to make the yard sale a zero-waste event. Residents are encouraged to contact organizations like Vietnam Veterans of America, Lupus Foundation of America, GreenDrop, Market Street Mission, and Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore to arrange pickups of leftovers.

No Permit Fee and Additional Information
