Morristown Medical Center Named Among World’s Best Hospitals by Newsweek

Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center have been named among Newsweek’s annual World’s Best Hospitals for the fourth consecutive year. Both hospitals also received recognition among Best Hospitals for Infection Prevention in 2022.

Morristown Medical center ranked among the World’s Top 250 coming in at number 151.

Among the Best Hospitals in the United States, Morristown Medical ranks #46, highest among all seven NJ hospitals to make the list. Overlook Medical Center ranks #168.

According to an Atlantic Health System press release, “there are over 6,000 hospitals in the United States and of the 420 hospitals ranked by Newsweek, Morristown is ranked #46 – above all New Jersey hospitals.”

9. UCLA Health – Ronald Reagan Medical Center: United States, Los Angeles, CA

10. Sheba Medical Center: Israel, Ramat Gan

“The World’s Best Hospitals 2022 ranking is based on responses to an online survey sent to nearly 80,000 medical experts” – Atlantic Health System’s press release

Including surveying medical experts, hospitals were judged based on patient experience surveys, and medical key performance indicators (KPIs) such as quality of treatment, hygiene measures, and patient to doctor and nurse ratio.

In 2021, in the midst of the Pandemic, Newsweek added a category for infection prevention. For the second year, both Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center were named among the World’s Best Hospitals in Infection Prevention.
